The Southwest Shakespeare Company comes to Taliesin West to present Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles.
Written by Luis Alfaro — the recipient of many prestigious awards such as the MacArthur and Mellon fellowships — Mojada is a retelling of Euripides’ classic tale of a princess who has followed her lover into exile in a foreign land. Alfaro decided to convert the story into a tale of Mexican immigrants trying to make it in Los Angeles.
